Fall Makeup Trends I will Be Trying Out
I don’t know what it is about fall, but the second the weather starts getting colder, I immediately want to change up my makeup. Suddenly I’m reaching for brown instead of black, wanting to wear a smoky eye on a random Tuesday and convincing myself that I absolutely need another dark lip. This season, though, I have seen quite a bit of new trends that I would want to add to my routine and switch up my regular makeup a bit.
’90s lips, but softer
The ’90s lip is definitely having another moment, and I’m not mad about it. I’ve always loved that combination of a deeper lip liner with a lighter centre, but this time I want it to look less outlined and more blended. I’m thinking brown, rosy brown, plum and black cherry rather than anything too obvious. I’ll probably line the lips first, soften the edges slightly with my finger and then add a lighter balm or lipstick in the centre!

Brown instead of black
One tiny change I really want to experiment with this season is swapping some of my usual black makeup for brown. Brown mascara, brown liner, brown shadow - it sounds too simple, but I love how much softer it makes everything look. I’m particularly into the idea of a full monochromatic brown look, with warm coffee and espresso shades across eyes, cheeks and lips.

A little bit of blue
I’ve been seeing so many beautiful blue eye looks lately that I’m officially ready to give it a chance! A navy or cobalt pencil along the upper lashes feels like a touch of color you can add everyday, and I like the idea of keeping everything else really simple and letting the eyes do the work. For evening, though, I’m tempted by a deeper blue shadow with some shimmer.

Minimal Contour
This fall, I want my contour to be almost invisible - just enough to add a little definition and lift without creating an obviously carved-out cheekbone. I’d rather use a small amount of cream contour or bronzer high on the face, blend it properly and let the blush and natural skin do the rest. Basically, if you can immediately tell where my contour starts and ends, I’ve probably used too much!
