7 Styling Ideas From This Fashion Month
One of my favorite things about Fashion Month is discovering styling ideas that make me look at the pieces I already own a bit differently. The Spring/Summer 2027 runways were full of clever ways to put an outfit together, from unexpected color combinations and statement accessories to small details that can completely change the feel of a look, and the best part - you don't need to shop for anything new to try them. These are the styling ideas I spotted across the runways that I'm saving for inspiration!
Layer colorful tights under capri pants
Colorful tights have been in trend for a while now, but Loewe made a case for keeping capri pants in rotation beyond the warmer months by layering them over brightly colored opaque tights. The contrast between the cropped silhouette and the unexpected flash of color gives the look a playful, 80s feel. You can experiment with the idea by using black capris and red, cobalt-blue or burgundy tights, then finish with ballet flats, loafers or heeled sandals. This is how
you will get a really cool outfit that you will be able to adapt for other seasons too, by adding a sweater or a light silk shirt, depending on the weather.

Mix tailored pieces with sporty trousers
Miu Miu loves to play with the contrast between polished and athletic dressing, and they do that by pairing relaxed track pants with structured blazers. The combination may feel a bit unexpected, but balancing the ease of sportswear with the sharper lines of tailoring can look very cool. For a more interesting interpretation, add a printed scarf top, or keep things simple with a white T-shirt and classic trainers. The key is to let the contrast between the pieces do the work, and not add too many prints or colors.

Use a brooch to reshape your sweater
At Dries Van Noten, the brooch was the perfect finishing touch. Pinned strategically, it changed the shape and drape of an ordinary sweater, gathering fabric at the waist or creating an asymmetric neckline. It's a clever way to give knitwear you already own a completely different look, particularly when working with oversized or softer silhouettes.

Pair a car coat and cropped trousers
You know I love a good coat, and a car coat continues to prove its versatility, with Celine presenting some of the chicest ways to wear it. The runway combination of buttoned-up coats and slim, cropped trousers created a clean silhouette that feels equally appropriate for everyday dressing and elegant occasions. I would pair it with pointed-toe flats or kitten heels, and some sheer tights or knee-high socks for an extra styling detail. If its warm enough, you can always show some skin!

Use buttons in an unexpected way
Altuzarra reminded us that sometimes the smallest styling changes make the biggest difference, and showed one of my favorite styling tricks this season. Rather than fastening buttons in the usual order, they experiment with leaving a few undone or fastening a cardigan asymmetrically to create a more relaxed silhouette. The same trick works with button-down shirts and lightweight jackets, especially when paired with a knee-length skirt and loafers for a look that feels polished but not overly formal.

Tie a ribbon around your jacket
At Chanel, a simple ribbon became one of the most charming styling details. Tied loosely around the waist, with a bow at the front, it adds a playful touch to jackets and button-down shirts, and really gives you that romantic vibe. I will be trying this one with a slightly oversized blazer, a cardigan, or a simple white shirt for an unexpected alternative to your usual belt.

Introduce a pop of cobalt blue
As I have already mentioned, cobalt blue is one of the it colors this season, and it appeared all across runways. It shows that a single vibrant piece stands out against the rest of the outfit and gives it charm, without too much work. Rather than committing to a head-to-toe color combination, try introducing blue through a shirt, a lightweight knit, a scarf or a bag. It works particularly well with black, grey, white and chocolate brown, making it an easy way to refresh familiar outfits without changing your entire wardrobe.
