Chicest Accessories You Can Wear During Fall

I think the easiest way to make your autumn wardrobe feel new again is to just change the accessories. The same jeans, blazer and T-shirt will always look completely different with the right belt, scarf or pair of sunglasses, and trust me - you do not need a whole new wardrobe every single fall.
This season, there are so many good accessories to play with, and these are the ones I will be adding to my outfits!

Scarves, but not always around your neck

Scarves are everywhere this autumn, but I’m much more interested in wearing them somewhere other than around my neck. One of my favorite ways to style a larger scarf is actually around the waist, almost like a belt. A cashmere or silk scarf will also work beautifully over a simple T- shirt with an open jacket, but you can also use it in more interesting ways to change the proportions of the outfit without having to buy a whole new clothing piece.
It is also one of those trends that allows you to add something fun to your outfit, like leopard or zebra print, or even just a bright red or yellow color. Even a plain black scarf tied over a monochromatic outfit can look incredibly chic! You can really use it in a 100 of different ways, which is why I believe it is the best accessory for this season.

The right hat

You know I like a good hat, especially for the fall season, and I always find it interesting how much a hat can change the mood of an outfit. A beret, for example, immediately gives even the simplest combination a slightly Parisian feel, and you can use it to create that regular elegant outfit, or make a contrast and pair it with a leather jacket, trousers, a white T-shirt and loafers.

Suede and leather caps are another favorite for autumn. They have the casual feel of a baseball cap, but the texture makes them feel much more considered. The key, at least for me, is that the hat shouldn't look as though you spent an hour building an outfit around it, but rather a finishing touch you did right before you left the house.

The brooch

The brooch has been making its way back into fashion for a while now, but this autumn I'm particularly drawn to the floral versions. Oversized flower brooches have appeared across runways, and I love the idea of using one to make a blazer, coat or even a simple knit feel more interesting. It is also one of those accessories you can move around your wardrobe and attach pretty much everywhere, and it will make each piece look different.

Long gloves for when you want to be a little extra

This is probably the least practical accessory on my list, but perhaps that's also why I like it.
Opera-length gloves are back for autumn, appearing under coat sleeves and paired with evening looks and furs, giving every outfit that mob wife energy.
However, I don't think they need to be reserved for a formal occasion because a pair of long leather gloves under an oversized coat can make a very simple outfit feel instantly more polished. It is also an accessory that will keep you warm and will work pretty much with anything, so you can wear it to work, to run errands, or go out on colder days.

Sunglasses Are Not Just for Summer

I will always find a reason to wear sunglasses, and thankfully autumn gives us plenty of sunny days to justify it. Classic black cat-eye frames are still a staple for me, but I'm also very into the narrow, minimal shapes we've been seeing lately. Then there are the oversized, almost mask-like frames that feel much more dramatic and can completely change a simple coat-and-jeans outfit and make you look like the coolest girl in town.
And yes, I absolutely love wearing sunglasses with a hat. Technically, that's two accessories doing the work, but I will always add them when I think an outfit just needs a little more personality.
