How To Make Your Outfits Look More Expensive
Making an outfit look expensive has very little to do with how much you actually spent on it. I've found that the most elevated summer looks are usually the most simple ones, and it's all about the little styling details that make everything feel more intentional! If you want to make sure your outfits look a bit more expensive and sophisticated, these are the tips for you!
Let One Statement Piece Do All the Work
One of my favorite tricks to make an outfit look more elegant and expensive is just keeping everything simple and making one piece become the star of the outfit. A basic white shirt and linen shorts combination instantly feels different when you add a cool bag, a statement necklace, or an interesting belt. The key is not wearing every “special” piece you own at once, because when one accessory gets all the attention, the entire outfit feels more intentional.

Steam Your Clothes
This might be the least glamorous piece of advice ever, but it does make a big difference. A perfectly steamed white T-shirt will always look more expensive than a designer piece that is wrinkled. Especially during summer, when our outfits are made of lighter fabrics and fewer layers, every detail becomes more visible. Crisp cotton and smooth linen instantly create that “put together without trying too hard” feeling, but you need to make sure they are well ironed!
Try a Monochrome Look
Whenever I’m unsure what to wear, I just go for different shades of the same color. Monochromatic outfits always look expensive, especially an all-white summer outfit in different shades of beige or soft grey tones. The secret is playing with textures so the look doesn’t feel flat, which is why I would combine linen with cotton or silk with denim.

Edit Before You Add
This might be the most important rule of all: when an outfit doesn’t feel right, don’t immediately add something else. My first instinct used to be just adding another accessory, layer, or another trend piece. But often the thing that makes an outfit look more expensive is just removing something, because less truly is more.
